The Eagles Basketball team kicked off their season with a strong showing against the defending state champions. This exciting night showed fans a neck and neck game that kept the fans on the edge of their seats.

 

“The team played very well, and they really stayed in the game,” said UME senior Brian Barker. “They were one big cohesive unit, working together to do their best to bring the team victory.” Brian was in full support of the basketball team as they played as hard as they could.

 

“I am proud of the guys for giving such a huge effort. I have never seen them play so hard in all the years that I’ve coached,” Eagles head coach, Kevin Barker, said in a recent interview. “It's honestly really inspiring.”

 

Top to bottom everyone on the team has solid fundamentals in the game of basketball, and they are all looking forward to getting some wins this season. As Kevin Chandlee, the team’s starting point guard said, “The squad is looking good this year yo, and I am totally looking forward to getting dubs because we don’t take no L’s ”

 

He and many others on the team share the same excitement and overall enthusiasm for this season. Although in the end, the Eagles basketball team fell to the opponent, they played very well and cannot wait to hit the court again! 12/5//16
