The month of October is a time filled with carving pumpkins, dressing up, and watching scary movies. Tim Burton’s “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” is the perfect movie for this time of year. It brings a spooky, but lighthearted vibe that most Tim Burton films bring, which is ideal for this year’s Halloween.

“Miss Peregrine’s” is a dark fantasy film about a boy, Jake, who just suffered from a family tragedy. He soon travels to Wales to figure out the mystery of the loss, and discovers a magical place for strange children with strange abilities. The house is run by the mysterious Miss Peregrine, an immortal woman who can turn into a bird. Along the way, Jake learns he is a major part of this house, and could really help save the strange children’s lives.

The film is a bit frightening, but it is watchable and liked by all ages. It definitely is perfect for the Halloween season, and will for sure be a classic for the years to come. 10/14/16
