Dance Addiction

strikes UME!

THE DAB

New dance trends emerge every year, but one that has remained prominent is the “dab.”

The dab has become almost an epidemic, causing people to dab at inappropriate moments. Some might even say that it has become an addiction among the young people of today. Tyson Jones says, “The dab has invaded social media.” The dab has been incorporated into several forms of dances, and has been used as a focus point for many videos.

Not only has the dab invaded social media, but it has also invaded schools across America. Michael Fowler said, “Dabbing is one of my true passions in life. It creates a safe haven from my crippling depression for me. And it’s an outlet for comedy to amuse people around me.”

Isaiah Wilson could not conclude with the interview because he was too far gone in his  addiction to dabbing. He proceeded to dab rather than answer the questions. All over UME, students are dabbing to music, sneezing, and literally any sounds they hear.

High school students have been affected the most by this dance epidemic, dabbing at any given moment.

And I will admit, I am one of them. My name is Kimberley Carmen, and I am a dabber.
