“It’s the most wonderful time of the year…” Andy Williams has full agreement from me and my family.   Each year in the Norman house, we kick off the season with Christmas music, Christmas lights, and  “Bethlehem Revisited” in Waxahachie! Then it’s time to get down to serious business… getting ready for the Annual Norman Family Christmas Eve Caroling Party!

Every year since 2005 our family has hosted a Christmas Eve Caroling Party.  When my family moved to Texas from California,  my mom said that she always wanted to go caroling and have a fun Christmas party, but she didn’t know of anyone who hosted something like that.  A friend suggested she host a caroling party herself and Mom jumped right on that train.

My mom made caroling booklets  with all of our favorite songs. So, after we eat delicious ham, pumpkin muffins, and fudge, we hit the neighborhood streets. We may not sound that great, but we definitely get some pretty amazing looks when our neighbors open their doors Christmas Eve and find a group of 15-30 people singing to them!  Some of the many things said to us are: “ Wow you guys are amazing!” or “ God bless your souls!”

“I love the joy that comes with our Christmas party,” my dad says. Mom agrees, “I look forward to this year round!” 12/12/16
