“It’s giving people a chance to express themselves through dance rather than violence or other means.” Jon Hobson

“I think that the dance doesn’t have much quality, and it makes me question everyone in the nation’s taste in dance music.”

Michael Fowler

“I am a big fan of the dance, I am glad it's sweeping the nation. It really brings people together, it's the new cha-cha slide.” Matt Fennig

JUJU BRINGS DANCE TO NATION

“What will the future be like?” people ask and wonder what tomorrow will bring. Will there be new technology, flying cars, and even phone watches?

Some of these things have been developed and exist in the 21st Century. However, the most popular things that change and develop today are music, dress trends, and even popular dances. The different types of popular dances have emerged as a big trend all over the world and social media with people posting themselves doing the dance and spreading the trend.

The dances that have trended have been the Nae Nae, Wipe, the Folks, Dab, Running Man, and JuJu on that Beat. Teens and even adults have contributed to the world-wide spread of these trends. However, perhaps the biggest hysteria surrounds the dance “JuJu on that Beat.” People have posted the dance all over social media, and even some people have gotten famous by doing the dance on video.

UME student India H. said, “The videos of people make me laugh and some make me happy, and I think they're cool.”  The song was released on August 11, 2016 and started taking over Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube with many people posting videos of the dance and some even getting thousands of views. Some of the people have even become famous, ending up on daytime TV shows like Ellen, The View, and E news.

For example, a 4-year-old little boy named Travis was interviewed on Ellen and asked to perform the dance in front of the nation. It seems the dance trends of today mixed with social media create a recipe for flash-in-the-pan fame for anyone with a little guts and luck.
